Look how much I have been spoiled! At first I could not see anything because the package was wrapped in an invisibility cloak. Once I figured out the cloak, I was ecstatic to see my package! Not only did Electra the Enchanted knit me a BEAUTIFUL bag, but she also sewed another bag to hold the yarn. Speaking of the yarn, she said this is the first time she has tried dying her own HP yarn. Talk about first timer luck!! It is gorgeous!! And all the extra goodies, how lucky am I!

Postive Vibes Out to Professor McGonagall

Dame Maggie Smith, Professor McGongall in the Harry Potter films, is fighting a battle with breast cancer, it has been revealed today. The brave Oscar winner is said to have insisted on going ahead with filming the latest installment of Potter last month, even though she was undergoing radiation therapy at the time. Let's keep her in our thoughts and prayers.

What an exciting round of HSKS this has been! There have been so many new twists and turns. It has truly kept me and the prefects on our toes. I hope that you all enjoyed the last round. I wanted to do it a little bit different so that I wouldn't be too predictable lol

I will total up the points and have a final count for you all on Monday, as well as the award trophy for Gryffindor House.

The Dobby Prize

At last my heartfelt tribute to the fallen house-elf and knitter extraordinaire, Dobby, is complete. Sadly, the socks aren't as good as I hoped they would be - the snitch one does not easily 'slip' on, but is a very comfortable fit once past the heel! I apologise to whoever wins them if they have substantial ankles to get them over!

I have forgiven Gryffindor for their hat trick and decided not to furnish the socks with itching powder!

I am currently designing house socks for all the Hogwarts houses and need a short (two worded) cheer for Hufflepuff. I have 'Soar Ravenclaw', 'Go Gryffindor' (though at the moment perhaps I would prefer 'Go Away Gryffindor!!!!), and 'Ssssslytherin', but haven't yet been inspired with anything for Hufflepuff. The Game May Be Over

The Quidditch matches may be over, but I hope this isn't the end of the fun! I've truly enjoyed reading the blog posts, seeing the pictures of all the amazing kits that have been put together, and the camaraderie this swap has created. Even the friendly repartee and the sometimes intense competition has helped to create a community that I've been very excited to be part of. My Owl arrived!

I got my package yesterday, and it was just so awesome! My pal put so much effort into it, i was spoiled rotten!  The whole thing came in a hogwarts trunk, and inside was beautiful ravenclaw self-striping yarn, knitpicks needles, chocolate, stitch markers, a notebook, a time-turner, and so much more!   

and best of all, was the bag she made me, a fair-isle ravenclaw bag.  it kicks ass!   Thank you so much Cassandra Grubbly-Plank, you rock! I love it all!!!!

I received my swap package a bit ago. Well, so long ago I ate all the chocolate that was in it already. I am having a tough time with my camera (between finding it and putting in charge batteries). I will post pics of the beautiful yarn, bag, and st markers (and the other stuff) to my blog soon. I have so many things on the needles that need to be done by the end of this month that I can't cast on these socks yet, but I am so looking forward to it. I do get to use the beautiful st markers already though.

And the chocolate was divine. Yummmy, yum.

I would like to take this moment to honor a member of Gryffindor house, Lily of Flitwick.

Lily will be leaving for Italy tomorrow to compete in a Marathon to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Lily has raised close to $5000 for much needed cancer research.

On March 16Th Lily will run 26.2 miles in search for something much greater than the finish line; a cure.

Please join me in wishing Lily a safe flight, a swift race and a safe and triumphant return.

I received my swap package!

On Saturday, I came home from a trip out of town to find a box on the porch...but this wasn't just any box, it was my swap package. =) Excited, I took it inside, took pictures of the outside, and carefully opened the box to find so much more than I'd ever expected...all carefully documented by my camera, of course! I am spoiled, and then some. Pictures will go up on my blog probably sometime this week. Perpetua Phoenixfire, you may be a Gryffindor, but you sure know how to spoil a Ravenclaw. Our 3rd and final round of Quidditch will begin in two days with a lovely weekend release of the Snitch. I'm thinking that everyone is preferring the weekend releases.

I just received the most wonderful owl from Ms. Lily Durmstrang. It was waiting for me as I arrived at my dorm yesterday afternoon. There were many wonderful things, including a timeturner, that will have pictures posted early next week.
